MatteHatter's Wants: New Gent Majestic Bird Watch

I've always been a fan of calligraphy and the sort. So when Swatch collaborated with China's contemporary art duo Birdhead to launch this stunning watch late last year, I was stoked.



When it comes to watches, I usually go for classic/vintage leather-strapped ones. It's a men's thing really. Plastic watches (aka. Swatch watches) and masculinity just don't go together. But every now and then comes an exceptional watch like this that transcends egotism - that's where plastic/silicon watches become cool again.

I've had my eyes on it for a while now. Too bad, it's only limited to 1,888 pieces (that and the fact that I don't have the wampum to buy them). And what kind of a name is New Gent Majestic Bird? Who cares really, it's one fine watch and I want it.
